Vivienne Song
Other Name; 宋美音 » Song Mei Ying
Age/Birthdate: Seventeen; December 20
House/Year: Gryffindor; Sixth
Bloodline: Halfblood

Physical Description:
(5"4, natural black hair, dark brown eyes)

Vivienne is your typical Asian girl with the almond shaped eyes, dark hair and slim, petite build. Her long hair is something she takes prize in, she’s never worn it short and never neglects to do her daily practices to keep it nice and healthy.

Personality

Vivienne is a bit of a contradictory person. She loves drama and conflicts but never, ever purposely engages in any. There’s a slight voyeuristic tendency in her where she simply enjoys observing events unfold one by one like a television drama. Whether it be a Quidditch game, a duel with swords, a common room cat fight or bar room brawl, she’s there and sitting where there’s a great view. Vivienne would even encourage it and offer plenty of suggestions of turning mundane objects into awesome weapons if anyone wanted to duke it out, muggle style. She so loves the physical, though that’s a secret!

Vivienne likes Wuxia, admires Bushido and would totally love it if Chivalry weren’t dead. The extreme loyalty, nobility and timeless love through death and beyond leaves her breathless! Nothing gets her blood pumping like watching two people face off in a battle to the death, to see blood and sweat run into one river and war cries that echo through the rain, literally. Chick flicks and all that? No, thank you. She also has a burgeoning collection of swords, sabres and katanas (the count is at 52!) much to the horror of her family. Unfortunately, she can’t wield any of them since she’s never been trained, but that doesn’t keep her from spending all day polishing them until they’re shiny and sharp, Vivienne would probably snuggle them to bed if they wouldn’t kill her when she rolled over. It does upset her a bit that the school has forbidden her from bringing her collection (what if it rusts or her parents sell them?!). Contrary to her collection though, Vivienne has never studied martial arts though her parents have offered to enrol her in classes after discovering her hobbies. In fact, she’s barely athletic and hates activities that would make her sweat.

Half of her time is spent fussing over her hair, wears pretty clothes and usually spends all her time indoors in the typical girly-girl fashion. Well, she is a girly-girl, but a girly-girl with a little too much fondness for the gruesome. That doesn’t make her aggressive however, her ways of handling most conflicts would be considered pacifistic if she didn’t enjoy watching drama unfold at the same time. She smiles away threats, plays dumb whenever someone attempts to guilt trip her and pulls the weak-and-fragile card if anyone tries to get rough. It’s extremely rare for her to enter into verbal spars with people, though it’s been known to happen if it concerns certain individuals.

Vivienne is also on the possessive side of the spectrum. She likes picking up things and keeping them for her eyes only. The only things she offers to share would be things you know she wouldn’t miss like an extra quill or ink (unless it’s her favourite colour), everything else either comes with a price or a very loud, "no way!" It isn’t necessarily because she’s selfish, if someone was really in need she would undeniably offer them her hand and goods if they were required, Vivienne simply likes what belongs to her to stay perfect, like her swords! Obviously, if she lent them out they would be soiled goods. Her possessive feelings also extends to how she feels towards her friends and family, they’re her friends and her family so stay away and no touching! That brings us to the next point about Vivienne, her sister.

Vivienne loves her little sister very much, so much most people can practically see a heart floating in the air in reference. When Vivienne was a toddler, Emmeline was simply a loud, noisy, crying mass of pink that ruined her naptimes and drooled a little too much. A few years later when she got older, Emmeline was like a doll, a walking, talking, chubby adorable doll that clung to her all day and listened to every single word she said. Vivienne so liked being clung to! There was something undeniably adorable with that. Of course, since then Emmeline has grown and lost her baby fat, which Vivienne misses terribly (so nice and squishy to hug!), but when she looks at her little sister a little voice in her head still says a fierce, "Mine!" No one else was allowed to take her away and no freaking way was anyone else allowed to play big sis/bro substitute either (over her dead body!). So naturally Vivienne has a huge interest in everything that her Emmy does from school grades, to her hair and of course, the friends she keeps. No boys are allowed to touch her Emmy either; only big sis gets to huggle her all over! A sister complex? Yes, most definitely.

It isn’t only her little sister that she would fawn over. An extension to that would be her love for cute things, people included. The round faced, big eyed, innocent and mostly naïve people can randomly find themselves tackled by her in the corridors because Vivienne sees them as something ‘cute’ and definitely irresistible. If anyone heard a yelp of surprise echo down the stairways, they need only look up to find Vivienne snuggling a random first or second year boy or girl, ruffle their hair and probably offer them candy if they weren’t smart enough to run away. Not that there’s anything to be afraid of in Vivienne, she’s completely non aggressive, though she may bite!
History

The story of how her parents got together would probably be best explained by her sister Emmeline, since it held some potential romantic moments that Vivienne wouldn’t be able to recite with a straight face. It started with something along the lines of a king hearted, healer Cho Chang meeting a grouchy prosecutor that would be Da Ying Song and a lot of squabbling that must have ended up on the marriage bed because here was Vivienne followed by Emmeline a year later and possibly another along the way. The theory that opposites attract must be true to some point. Or “that was that” as her father would say, which Vivienne had always somehow interpreted it to mean he had given up and resigned himself to fate. Not that they were a bad family or anything, no no~

Vivienne had a pleasant childhood in Stirling, Scotland. It made her a little sad that her parents weren’t always around with their irregular work schedules, but it was all right. She soothed her depression by very passive aggressively timing huge messes to happen during the last fifteen minutes before a parent was to come home, it was so amusing to watch the babysitters go frantic with cleaning. She also took great pleasure in showing how cute she thought the neighbour’s son was by putting him in dresses, it was just a shame his hair wasn’t long enough for pigtails. So really, it was okay that her parents weren’t around enough, she wasn’t miserable. After all, Vivienne grew up sane and normal like any other witch in a wizarding family, right?

When Emmeline was finally big enough to be mostly mobile and talk beyond babytalk, Vivienne suddenly found herself a playmate that wouldn’t run away in tears every time she waved a dress to them. So adorable, attentive and squishy!

Her first year at Hogwarts was probably the most eventful one for her so far. She had come to school all neat and proper, sorted into Gryffindor almost immediately and had charmed the children next to her during dinner into being her friends... and then came dorm time. See, Vivienne had brought the beginnings of her blade collection to school (just thirteen!) and had been in the process of setting them up in her new room when she noticed how deathly quiet everyone in the room was. Really, the last thing she expected when she turned to her roommates were screams of horror and the whole backing away business. Honestly, it wasn’t like she was going to murder them in their sleep. Unfortunately, news travelled fast in Hogwarts and before the end of her first night she had her blades confiscated and packaged to be sent home the next day, woe! Needless to say, by then a million and one rumours had been circulated stretching from anywhere between Vivienne being some foreign assassin to ninja. It almost two to three years before the rumours dissipated.

The years since then seem rather calm in comparison.

HEY. I don't think I backstoried Theo with Viv and I'm real sorry about that. But I am here now, so hopefully that helps. I see that Jade has in fact allowed the Cho/Marietta/Eddie friendship triangle (FRIENDSHIP, PEOPLE. FRIENDSHIP.) to exist the Sera universe, and so I'm afraid Viv won't be able to avoid Theo.

Theo will really like Vivienne. I mean, she'll happily sometimes tell her that she is weird, but then if her father travels or something she'll be sure to tell him to pick up a sword for a present. So it wouldn't be mean spirited. She'll just tease a lot. And I'm sure when they were younger Theo tried desperately to get her to play Quidditch.

HEY YOU. It's all right, I just introduced her this week back in old disgusting GJ and everyone moved over to IJ in the same week.

Well, Vi would sit through teasings as long as offers of presents come! She's so craving an authentic Hattori blade (hint, hint~). And if Theo had, Vi would probably had run away in the other direction if she saw her approaching with a broomstick.
